They stimulate blood flow, activate the immune system, aid in deeper and more restful sleeping patterns and create a consciousness of your body that extends beyond the time for which you are actually meditating.

Emotionally: Active Meditations provide the opportunity for the direct release of emotions and a new understanding of the root of emotions. Both of these will contribute directly to new ways of communicating your emotions and a more healthy expression of emotions which, when left unexpressed, are known to contribute to illness – eg. stress, anxiety and anger.

Mentally: Active Meditations increase mental acuity and alertness by freeing the mind from 'debris' and 'clutter'. You will notice a sharpness in your ability to focus and will come to more easily discard thoughts that once plagues you relentlessly. You will more easily be able to 'shift your perspective' on things that previously you found yourself 'stuck on' or 'obsessed with'. You will simply be more open to new ideas and experiences.

Spiritually: and of course, active meditations are a wonderful opportunity for recognizing your own connectedness with anything larger than yourself. Whether it is higher truth, nature, the universe or even god, there is a chance to see and experience this 'greater-ness' inside you and see how you contribute to the greater whole. There IS purpose and meaning for your being here, and it is very specific. Have a look, see what you find.
